Active Aging at The Salvation Army Kroc Center
The Kroc Senior Center provides activities and events on a daily basis to ensure that mature adults are kept actively involved, engaged and aware of available senior services, events and activities (i.e.—field trips, musical performances, stage plays, arts & crafts, educational workshops and other social events).
Information about health care and senior-related resources is provided to improve emotional, physical, social, cultural and spiritual growth in a safe, fun, relaxing environment to enhance their quality of life and spiritual well-being.
A number of these activities are: Aqua Fit, Gospel-aerobics, Zumba, Tai Chi, Senior Fitness, Line Dance Classes and Walking Club as well as Art, Photography and other educational classes.
KROC SENIOR LAW CLINIC – CDEL
The Kroc Senior Law Clinic takes place on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm.
Seniors 62+ yrs. and people with disabilities are provided with legal services such as: “Housing, Financial matters, Estate planning, Power of Attorney, Living Will, and Financial Abuse, etc.

CLUB 62 BOOK CLUB
More than a book club, CLUB 62 provides a great opportunity for seniors to socialize and expand their horizons. Club 62 Book Club meets in collaboration with the Chicago Public Library on the 4th Monday of each month at 11:00am. Meetings take place at the Kroc Center but will also provide for member participation via Zoom as well. Book Club members discuss the book of the month selected by club members and reserved for reading by the Chicago Public Library.

DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP (VIRTUAL)
When you know better, you do better. Diabetes workshops provide education and knowledge to help manage and control diabetes to improve your quality of life. The Kroc Diabetes Support Group meets virtually on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, from 11am – 12 noon via Zoom. CANCERVIVE
The cancer support group meets the 1st Monday of each month at 10:00am to provide support, gain information and knowledge on different types of cancer, programs, and resources available. RETIRED NURSES & HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS CLUB
Retired nurses and healthcare professionals meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 12:30pm to share and discuss information on healthcare programs and services available to the community at large. “WALK WITH A DOC” – STROKE PREVENTION MEETINGS
“Walk with a Doc” – Stroke Prevention meetings take place on the 2nd Friday of each month, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Meetings are open to all members who are interested in learning the signs and symptoms of stroke, want to learn more about staying healthy, active and knowledgeable about stroke while “walking and dancing” with a doctor.
“MEMORY CAFE” – FOR CAREGIVERS AND PEOPLE WITH DEMENTIA
Memory Cafe meetings take place on the 3rd Friday of each month from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. A safe space for persons with mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s or related Dementias and their caregiver partners to come, socialize, participate in fun activities, enjoy music therapy movement, get resource information and so much more!
